Long Hiatus

It has been really a while since I last wrote about anything on this blog. You can consider 'lazy' as the number one culprit in this case. I have to admit that since I started working, I've always been occupied with work related stuff, physically and emotionally. But I would say that it's a big lie when all the time that I have in life, I spent on thinking about my work. Nope. I know very well that I am not that hardworking. One thing for sure, I noticed myself got caught into emotional affair with my work, the love-hate-relationship game is very strong in this arena. Sometimes too strong that it made me rethink about some of my decisions that I made in life. (If you get what I mean)

Anyway, I went to Bon Odori last night with my sister since she insisted me to go with her, pfft clingy sister I know. One word for it - awesome! I am definitely going to the next year's and I am going to make sure that I'll apply leave on that particular day just to attend the event. Oh, not to forget, I think I need to get myself a pair of yukata for myself too! And that cute japanese umbrella too.

Till the next time, bye!

He Who Must Not Be Named

This cutie pie here sure is the little rascal at home! I should write about how we first met and laid eyes on each other. Haha. I'll put up another post about that later.

Wonderwall

Those things you happen to stumble upon on 9gag are just priceless. I've got to admit that I am one of those hardcores who reads 9gag religiously, instead of reading about medicine and novels. At first I thought what a waste of time, but as I read more, the more attached I feel to it. As for now, I have numerous collection of posts that I found to be interesting or even true to life. That's my hobby I guess. I need to figure out where should I put those saved pictures now since it's already taken up too much space already.

More Than Halfway There

It's already Thursday! Which means that tomorrow will be the last day for school! Which also means that Hari Raya is merely a week away, God willing. To flashback my Ramadan this year, it was well spent compared to the ones I had when I was back in that tiny little island.

The first thing is obviously about the preparing food for iftar. I can never deny that those hours fasting sure did make the stomach crave for literally anything. Like that one time when me and my baby brother craved for sugar cane drinks. To my surprise, they don't sell sugar cane drinks in a large bottle in the supermarket here. They only have sugar cane drinks in a small soda can. How will that feed 7 hungry stomachs? So we needed to purchase it at a hawker's stall instead.

Also there's this one time, when we were making kuih for iftar, it seemed like everything should be in shades of rainbow. Like this rainbow kuih puteri mandi and this almost rainbow-fied jelly. My mom also made rainbow kuih lapis. Sadly, I forgot to take a picture of that one. Otherwise, I would have a series of rainbow food already! Haha.

We also started making kuih raya. The picture below should be the filling of pineapple tart cookies. We did made quite a batch of cookies. And we ate them all already. Haha. So much to be called as 'kuih raya'. The kuih itself cannot be kept till raya. I guess the only way to make sure that any cookies can last till 1st Syawal is to bake them right on the night before. But I am not sure myself who among us willing to do that.

Anyway, last Friday, the three of us sisters went to KLCC mosque to join this iftar with orphans event. Hence, the baju kurung. Hmm speaking of clothes, my maxi dress for raya has already done. Hope that it will turn out to be just nice by the time I put it on for raya. I'm not really hoping for something glamorous and all. Just humble and decent will do for me.

Anyway, secretly I sometimes do hope that the three of us have a bit of resemblance. Unfortunately, we look a lot like friends than blood related siblings.

Shades of Purple

Nowadays it seems like I have been waiting for a thousand years for June 26th to come. Sigh. I sometimes secretly wish that I could be a Jumper. So that the distance between my hometown and this tiny little island is merely few seconds apart. Or better yet, I would be very grateful if someone creates the Doraemon door. This would be the perfect time to try it out you know.

I didn't mean to sigh a lot but seriously, I don't have any idea what to do anymore. I've finished up my Running Man stock, already put up ads to sell my stuffs and mm... well, that's about it. Great! Well this means that I actually have done nothing at all. Haha. Honestly, I thought I did more than just those two above. Wow, I just can't believe what my mind has been tricked to.

Maybe I should go out and watch movies. But I don't really like going out by myself. That will make me look like a forever-alone. Not to mention that it is dangerous too. I'd prefer sitting home alone than doing that. Or maybe I should surf the net like usual. But I'm already bored with it. Nothing on the net excites me anymore. Maybe I should daydream! I could lay in bed all day long and dream about living in a castle and eating grapes from a silver platter!

Enough with rambling randomly. I actually know precisely what I need to do. So do not worry. I am not spending days and weeks just to daydream. But right now I might as well daydream about being a mermaid :p

Like a hard candy with a surprise center

I can't believe that the weekend is here! It seems like I've just left Forensic department yesterday and now here I am, with almost one week full of un-shampooed hair. Disgusting, I know. Try to picture me with Severus Snape's greasy hair. I just can't help it.

You know, the worst part or should I say in a more appropriate word, troublesome part of clinical years is the on-calls. I am never fond of on-calls. Before I elaborate more, for your information, our medical faculty here is a wee bit different from almost every other medical faculties in the world. The on-calls part to be per se.

We, as clinical years medical students do have on-calls. And it differs from each departments. Allow me to remind you that there are no such thing as a limit for working hours here. One can stay in a certain hospital for as long as 30 days a month without even a chance of going back home. Sick isn't it? I'm never telling you for how many hours have I been in a hospital. I don't think you'll ever believe that it's true.

Hmm. Let's just drop that part. See, I don't think on-calls are made for students, really. Maybe if they'll pay me for having on-calls, then I'll change my mind? Lol. I don't know.

The one and only reason for all the fuss is because I can't get my daily dosage of quality sleep. Sleeping has become my favorite past time. I'd rather stay at home and sleep in my precious bed than going out to mingle. I can't believe that I just confessed that one. But that's the truth. I come home everyday, tired, fatigue, and all I can see is just my bed. Period.

Hmm. But that's just the flow here. I just need to bear with it for some time till this is all over.

I need to tell you something, I seriously love to sleep.

Night! :)

Shangri-la

When she was just a girl
She expected the world
But it flew way from her reach so
She ran away in her sleep
and dreamed of paradise
Every time she closed her eyes
When she was just a girl
She expected the world
But it flew way from her reach
And the bullets catch in her teeth
Life goes on, it gets so heavy
The wheel breaks the butterfly
Every tear a waterfall
In the night the stormy night she'll close her eyes
In the night the stormy night away she'd fly

The doppelganger

Haha! I found the doppelganger for someone close that I know! I won't tell who because nobody would ever believe me. It's just from my point of view I guess. But if you really try to look close there are several resemblance. Like the eyebrows, those arched lips and eyes. Hmm. But the eyes were never that baby blue, it's more of light hazel-ish. But it's close!

Have a great day ahead!

p.s. to you, you seriously look a lot like Bella Heathcote! The long lost sister, I say.

Omg!

I know 'Omg!' isn't an appropriate word to put up as  post title. But I just can't resist this one. Seriously.

Irresistible

Kaanapali Beach Maui Hawaii

I think I watched television series too much. Not that much actually. I basically watch the first episode of some series and if I find it interesting I'll marathon finishing the whole 1 or 2 season asap. So here's the story, I recently started to watch Hawaii Five-0 and sure enough amazingly, I'm hooked to it. From my personal point of view, it's a typical cops-solving-homicide cases-chasing-bad-guys kinda story. With of course cute hunks with utterly hot bods! Omg, I drool every time I see 'em. Lol.

Typical. I know. But watching this one makes me dream for something beyond imagination. You see, they put clips of heavenly beautiful beaches and people enjoying/having fun with the crystal clear sea water in between the actual story line. The more I see the islands, beautiful beaches, perfect weather, the more I desire to live in one of those islands. It must be so refreshing to wake up to the sound of the most exquisite mother nature. And who doesn't love beaches, right?

Unfortunately, I'm still stuck in this little below-the-expectation island, far away from home. And jeez, I'm scared of tsunamis and earthquake and volcano eruptions. Maybe by the time that I seriously considering on living in such island, I should really dispose my paranoid side of me first. Or else it won't be any fun at all!

This post somehow reminded me of the video that this guy and his friend made recently. Haha. RyanHiga and VictorKing is so damn funny!

Trifle-ed

Aaaaaand, voila!

So this was what I made for Raya last week. One of the desserts. Impressed? No need to be. Difficulty level is like reciting ABC in kindergarten only. Hmm. Homesick la you know?! Random.

Misery

Wow. Okay. First of all, how should I start this with? Omg I'm so excited I couldn't even think about what to write first. Keep calm. But let me assure you that what I'm going to tell might not interest you as much as it interest me. Maybe I should start by telling what happen a few days before...

So anyway, last week I stumbled upon Maroon 5's web page. And guess what?! They're having a concert in Jakarta on the 5th October this year!

Then, last night my sister told me that BIGBANG is having a tour on the 13th October 2012. What a coincidence!

Just by thinking about these two concerts gives me adrenaline rush. Haha. Wow, I can't believe that I can put this 2 together in a post. But you know what. I don't think that I'll make it to either of them. Even though I know how much I want it.

Hmm. I'll think of a way then.

P.s. you do know what the dates are meant for right?

Jack of All Trades

I can't believe that I've reached up to my 100th post! What I can't believe either is that 2011 has finally come to its end. And of course, the current trending topic would be circulating around new year's resolution.

I'm not going to blab about my new year's resolution. I've made one long list last year and I don't think I've accomplished them all. So I am going to stick with those and just try my best to be happy.

Nonetheless, I'd love to change some part of me. The weird and bad at the same time. For those who doesn't know me, I'm not a really friendly person. I don't talk to strangers or even my own friends that easy. As for me, talking is super hard.

I've had (and God knows how much I still remember) weird conversations with other people. Some of them were when I asked people about what their nicknames are and why wouldn't they be called as something else (like seriously?) or when I tried to introduce myself in front of a crowd of people whom I met for the first time and my voice couldn't come out (like for real). Yup, I'm a nerve wreck.

So, most of the time, I'll do what I'm best at; preserving silence. I bet people would call me snobbish or anything else with the same meaning. I wish I could change that with a blink of eye but sadly it doesn't work that way.

Sometimes, this part of me is a big threat to my interpersonal relationships. I tend to do/say things that I didn't mean to (worst yet I myself didn't understand what's the purpose of doing it in the first place). It's complicated, right?

Hmm. Maybe I should grow my hair and live in tower far away from everyone.

That's all from me, thanks.

Shirt and jeans

You know one thing about technology, it develops over time. Just see how much we depend on high-tech gadgets nowadays compare to 10 or 15 years back. I merely own a decent hand phone and I've got to admit that back then, I always thought that Windows in computers weren't user friendly.

And look where we are today. I see people with high-tech gadgets everyday, everywhere and every time. I'm not sure whether the fact that I'm working in the hospital and being among doctors and professors is the reason for it. Though I can relate them both actually. But to save time, let's just skip that part.

Bear in mind that I'm not writing a review about those crazy, futuristic, sophisticated, out-of-your-mind gadgets. Not even close to discussing how's hologram could be possible.

As they continue to develop technology, I wonder will there ever be any geniuses who had any thoughts about making happiness and patience as something that they would like to offer? Like a retail shop offering happiness and patience to customers. No other products but happiness and patience. The best part is, you will never have any limit for purchasing it.

They build freaking robots that can dance and talk like human for God's sake. There might've been smartphones with hologram in some months later. Why can't they create happiness?

Wouldn't it be nice if you can just buy all the happiness you want and lead a carefree life? If there's a store such for real, I'll be proud to say that I would be their loyal customer for a lifetime. No second thoughts of course.

Not that I lack happiness in life. It is just an imagination or you can call it a stupid daydream's idea. You know when they say imaginations can always bring you towards infinity.

Wait a minute. Is there any quotes like that for real? Lol. I hope that I'm not losing my marbles.

Hmm. I should stop daydreaming and do useful things instead. I have to.

It will rain

"If you ever leave me, baby
Leave some morphine at my door
Cause it would take a whole lot of medication
To realize what we used to have
We don't have it anymore

There's no religion that could save me
No matter how long my knees are on the floor
So keep in mind all the sacrifices I'm making
To keep you by my side
And keep you from walking out the door

Cause there'll be no sunlight
If I lose you baby
There'll be no clear skies
If I lose you baby
Just like the clouds
My eyes will do the same if you walk away
Everyday it will rain, rain, rain

I'll never be your mother's favorite
Your daddy can't even look me in the eye
If I was in their shoes, I'd be doing the same thing
Saying there goes my little girl
Walking with that troublesome guy

But there're just afraid of something they can't understand
Well little darling watch me change their minds
For you I try, I'll try, I'll try
I'll pick up these broken pieces 'till I'm bleeding
If that'll make it right

Cause there'll be no sunlight
If I lose you baby
There'll be no clear skies
If I lose you baby
Just like the clouds
My eyes will do the same if you walk away
Everyday it will rain, rain, rain

Don't just say goodbye
Don't just say goodbye
I'll pick up these broken pieces 'till I'm bleeding
If that'll make it right

Cause there'll be no sunlight
If I lose you baby
There'll be no clear skies
If I lose you baby
Just like the clouds
My eyes will do the same if you walk away
Everyday it will rain, rain, rain"

Yup. I'm currently listening to 'The Twilight Saga Breaking Dawn Part 1' original soundtrack. Well not all of the songs actually. But so far, I enjoyed listening to them. Fyi, I was going to write about how much it rains here and this song, well what should I say. I listen to the song because of the title. It reminds me of rain. And this little island. Should I explain about it some more? Nope, enough said.

Anyway, the problem is that it's already raining here in this little island. Not just cats and dogs, I bet there would've even be raining mackerels and sardines in some moments later. Like crazy rain. Like if raindrops are mackerels and sardines, I would've become the girl who died eating too much of mackerels and sardines. Is it even possible to OD on mackerels and sardines? By the way, why am I writing about the weather?

Oh, because it's hard to travel with this kind of weather. Plus there's some huge construction everywhere. There are just more and more of piling mud and floods. Hmm. I guess I can keep on mumbling and complaining about everything here but it won't change anything though.

I need to preserve my sanity. Ciao!

p.s. Ain't the song sounded kind of cheesy? That's what I thought after I put the words from the song above. Well, what can I say. It suits the movie. And I guess it's just the singer's trademark too.

p.p.s. No offense, I'm not a big fan of the movie and the singer too. Just saying.

Hi!

It has been almost 11 days since I arrived on this little island. I've had my series of unstable emotions, took the 4th year exams, currently waiting for 28th November to start my ENT department and I've just got my internet connection sorted out. Unfortunately, the 1st row of my keyboard is broken which means if I want to type, I need to use the on-screen keyboard. Equals to torture.

Anyway, I stumbled upon this photo. Isn't it a beauty? I swear to you if I have that much money, I'll be sure to order this custom made cutie right away! Hihi.

p.s. Do you know that qwerty keyboard was created because people tend to type too fast with the original keyboard? Seriously.

What would you do?

I'm so in love with Castle. First of all because of Castle's fun and childish character (well not to mention that he has a very nice house and pretty cool stuffs like the light saber and the laser tag thingy and the Ferrari!) and second of all because of the pretty detective Kate Beckett! Omg she's sooooo pretty I just can't resist not to stare at her the whole time I'm watching Castle.

Regarding the title it's actually 'What would you do if you won a million dollars?'. But of course in Islam we are prohibited to such thing as playing the lottery and gambling so I just want to change the question to 'What would you do if you receive a million dollars?'. Let's just say that you gain the money in a good way not in bad way like stealing or bullying and etc.

If I were to have a million dollars, I would buy a house by the beach so that I can see the sunset everyday. Something like the one in the Full House (Korean drama if you don't know what I'm referring to). But preferably a bigger house to put my whole family. And big enough so that it would be a perfect accommodation for raya and all family gathering stuff. I'd love to decorate the house the way that I want it to be. Well the rooms I'll just leave it to each of my family members to deal with.

I'll make sure that most of the furnitures and households are from IKEA. I'm not the kind of person who would go for something traditional so there's no such thing as Balinese or Javanese concept and etc. Personally, the very first section that I would want to set up is the kitchen. It's the heart of the house! I'll make sure that my kitchen has everything that it needs to function at the maximum expectation. This would be fun!

Oh, the rest of the section can wait. If I'm lazy enough, I would just ask my private interior designer a.k.a. my respectful Mom to have a thought about it. She's one of a kind; the one who would know where and when to change the position of the furnitures and moves the furnitures by herself. She's a SuperMom! Hehe.

Wow, these thoughts made me go crazy already. I even forgot to think what to do with the rest of the money. Lol! I'll continue working on my list later. Need to daydream about my dream house. Bye.
